We have chanced on a report announcing the sudden of a Ghanaian nurse based in the USA who died after contracting the deadly Coronavirus.
This 50-year-old Ghanaian nurse identified as Freda Ocran reportedly gave up the ghost after she was diagnosed with Coronavirus some few days ago.
The news was confirmed by his son whose name was given as Kwame, and he stated that she has been complaining about the lack of Coronavirus precautions and testing at her medical facility.
In an interview with The Post on Monday, Kwame said:
“She had concerns, especially with working with patients and other staff and how long it was taking to be tested.”
We also gathered that, nurses at Jacobi held a demonstration outside the hospital on Saturday as they demanded more protective gear.
“Without those tests being administered, there’s no way of knowing if she was working with someone who had it or not. She complained and was concerned about the precautions being taken,” Kwame added.
Speaking of how the incident happened, Kwame stated that his mother became ill with mild symptoms about two weeks ago but still showed up for her nursing shift at Jacobi and the hospital sent her home without testing her.
Prior to her demise, she made a post on Facebook and it reads;
“I CAN’T STAY HOME…I’M A HEALTHCARE WORKER.”
She was admitted to Lincoln Medical Center in The Bronx on March 24, put on a ventilator at the end of last week and died within a day or two.
